Last year, while I was in Madrid, I decided to spend a day in the airbnb I stayed at and
stumbled upon many zero waste videos.
If you don't know what zero waste is, it's a way of living where you try to make literally (or almost) no waste, buying things in bulk, buy reusable version of things we would normally use only once, buying second hand clothes, trying to mend the broken ones when you can, if you don't want some things trying to sell them or donate to others, so to give it an other opportunity of life.
I don't think the zero waste lifestyle is for me, but I'm trying to waste less when possible. One way is to always bring with you reusable water bottles, so to not buy plastic ones.
But I'm not here to instruct people on zero waste, one because I'm not that instructed about it myself, and two this is not an essay but an other kind of post.
L'anno scorso, quando ero a Madrid, decisi di rimanere nell'airbnb dove stavo per una giornata e sono incappata in tantissimi video zero waste.
Se non sapete cos'è lo zero waste, è un modo di vivere dove si prova a fare letteralmente (o quasi) zero sprechi, comprare le cose sfuse, acquistare versioni riutilizzabili delle cose che utilizzeremmo solo una volta, acquistare abiti di seconda mano, cercare di riaggiustare quelli rotti, quando possibile, se avete delle cose che non volete più venderle o regalarle, per dargli una seconda chance.
Non credo che questo lifestyle faccia interamente per me, ma sto cercando di fare meno sprechi quando possibile. Uno di questi modi è, per esempio, portarsi sempre dietro delle bottiglie da riutilizzare, in modo da non doverne comprare di plastica.
Ma non sono qui per istruirvi sullo zero waste, uno perchè non sono così tanto istruita nemmeno io, e due perchè questo non è un saggio ma un altro tipo di post.
After all the documentation through bloggers and youtubers, when I came home I got myself a CHILLY'S bottle in pastel pink. But I was dumb enough to not look at the measures and I got myself the smallest bottle they have, which is the 260 ml one.
Anyway, I've been loving this bottle for the past year, I brought it to work, where there was a big 5 l bottle when I could refill it, I brought it almost everywhere I go (I need to remember to put in the bag first), I got my nephews to drink water with it when they didn't want to drink, just because it's different from the usual bottles and it seemed fun, it keeps whatever drink you put in it cold for 24 hours or hot for 12 hours, it doesn't leak and it's all stainless steel so it's BPA free. And their packagings are made in recycled material that can be recycled. Great, isn't it?
Dopo tutta la documentazione grazie a bloggers e youtubers, quando sono tornata a casa mi sono presa una bottiglia CHILLY'S rosa pastello. Ma sono stata stupida e non guardato le misure e mi sono presa la bottiglia più piccola che hanno, che è quella da 260 ml.
Ad ogni modo, la sto usando da quasi un anno e sono molto contenta, l'ho portata a lavoro, dove c'era un bottiglione da 5 l dove potevo riempirla, la porto più o meno ovunque vada (mi devo solo ricordare di metterla in borsa), riesco anche a far bere i miei nipoti da questa bottiglia, perchè è diversa dalle altre e sembra divertente, qualsiasi drink metta dentro tiene freddo per 24 ore e caldo per 12 ore, non perde perchè il tappo sigilla bene ed è in acciaio inossidabile quindi è BPA free. In più i loro imballaggi sono realizzati in materiale riciclato e riciclabile. Stupendo, no?
The only thing I've been struggling with, apart from the size, it's how to clean it well enough to get the bad smell of stagnant water, even if I wash it every day. Once I figure it out I'll put a post on, so I can share with you, if you've ever had troubles with it, too.
Anyway, I've been eyeing an other bigger bottle, to bring with me for longer outings, for the beach or whatever else, also because the one I have right now holds as much as a normal sized glass of water and I always have to bring with me the other bottle I have, which is bigger, but doesn't keep the water cold, which is so important in this season.

L'unica cosa con cui sto avendo dei problemi, a parte la misura, è come pulirla bene per togliere l'odore di acqua stagnante, anche se la lavo ogni giorno. Una volta capito il metodo giusto farò un post, in caso aveste anche voi lo stesso problema.
Comunque, sto adocchiando una bottiglia più grande, da portare con me per uscite più lunghe, per il mare o qualsiasi altra cosa, perchè dato che quella che ho ora tiene tanto quanto un bicchiere normale devo sempre portarmi un'altra bottiglia che ho, che è più grande, ma non tiene l'acqua fresca, che è importante in questa stagione.
