No video today, but a good old blog post! This time is all about the January favorites.

First of all, the first thing I did at the beginning of the month was starting this book, which I've had for 3/4 months, thanks to Amber's bookclub aka Barefoot Blonde.
Big Magic is a book all about dreams and projects and all the creative stuff and thoughts that come to mind in someone. For example, she talks about a book she started writing, but then happened some stuff in her life, which she documented in Committed
and the story slipped away. A couple of years ago, talking to a colleague/friend she found out that she was basically writing that same book. What is Liz's thought on this: the story knew that I left it apart to do something else and went to someone who was willing to take care of it, and make it become a book.

An other thing she says is don't quit your day job to follow your dream: you can follow your dream while supporting yourself with that job you don't like but keeps fed and a roof over your head.
Anyway, I'm not here to tell you all about it, or discuss on it, because it's not a post of the book, but you would like to read it and want to know more or less what it is about, I suggest you to read Amber's post where she talks about the book itself and what her thoughts about it are.

Per esempio, racconta di un libro che aveva iniziato a scrivere, ma hanno iniziato ad accadere delle cose nella sua vita che hanno iniziato ad occuparle il tempo e le giornate, che ha documentato nel libro Giuro che non mi sposo
e la storia se ne è andata. Un paio di anni dopo, parlando con un'amica/collega ha scoperto che stava praticamente scrivendo lo stesso libro. Il pensiero di Liz su questo qual'è stato: la storia sapeva che lei l'aveva lasciata da parte per fare altre cose ed è andata da una persona che sapeva si sarebbe presa cura di lei e che l'avrebbe fatta diventare un libro. Un'altra cosa che dice è non lasciare il lavoro per inseguire il proprio sogno: si può tranquillamente inseguire il proprio sogno facendo un qualsiasi lavoro che comunque ci permetta di avere un tetto sopra la testa e il frigo pieno. Comunque, non sono qui per raccontarvelo per interro, o discuterne, perchè non è un post interamente dedicato, ma se volete leggerlo e sapere più o meno di cosa si tratta, vi consiglio di leggere il post discussione di Amber.

I must admit I didn't know anything about it before the Golden Globes winnings. I didn't know that Mrs Maisel's mother/creator is the beloved Amy Sherman Palladino, mother/creator of the Gilmore Girls. Of course I had to watch it, immediately.
The series is about Miriam "Midge"Maisel, a young woman, married with two children, who is suddenly left by her husband for a younger woman. So she gets drunk and ends up to the pub where her husband tried to get famous with stand up comedy, and she becomes the stand up comedian.
It's SO good, Rachel Brosnahan is amazing as Midge, and Alex Borstein is Susie, the "manager".
Until the 26th of January it was only in English, but from that day you can watch it in Italian too! Go watch it! Now!
Devo ammettere che non conoscevo questa serie prima delle vittorie ai Golden Globes. Non sapevo che la mamma/creatrice di Mrs Maisel è la fantastica Amy Sherman Palladino, mamma/creatrice di Una Mamma per Amica. Dovevo guardarlo, ovviamente.
La serie parla di Miriam "Midge" Maisel, una giovane donna sposata con due figli, il quale marito improvvisamente la lascia per una donna ancora più giovane. Allora lei si ubriaca e torna nel locale nel quale il marito cercava di sfondare come comico, e diventa lei una comica.
E' fantastico, Rachel Brosnahan è davvero divertente come Midge, e Alex Borstein è Susie, la "manager".
Fino al 26 gennaio lo si trovava solo in Inglese, ma ora lo si può guardare anche in Italiano.

MILANO
As you've seen in my WHAT'S IN MY BAG post and video, I went to Milano to visit my friend and see the city, and of course I took some pictures. Not many, because my friend was a complete Cicerone and told me many things about the city. I really liked it, I'm planning on going back to see the Harry Potter Exhibition, so maybe I can get a mini tour of the city. Anyway, I'd like to go back an other time, maybe for a couple of days, also because last time I got bubbles on my feet for the amount of walking, and I put on comfy shoes!!!
Come avrete visto dal mio WHAT'S IN MY BAG post e video, sono andata a Milano a trovare il mio amico e fare un giro per la città , e ovviamente ho fatto delle foto. Non troppe, perchè il mio amico è stato un bravissimo Cicerone e mi ha spiegato molte cose sulla città . Mi sono divertita molto, ho in programma di tornare per andare a vedere Harry Potter Exhibition, quindi dovrei riuscire ad includere un mini tour della città . Comunque, mi piacerebbe tornare anche un'altra volta, magari per un paio di giorni, anche perchè l'ultima volta mi sono venute le bollicine sotto i piedi per quanto ho camminato. E mi ero messa le scarpe comode!!!
Even thought I started it a while ago, I'm putting it in my faves because I finished it and loved it!
I still have some little bags to use, but when I'll finish it I'll definitely buy it again. It's a bit messy, but who cares, you're in the shower or bathtub, you'll clean it up. ;-)
Anche se l'avevo iniziato da un pò di tempo, ho deciso di metterlo nei preferiti ora perchè l'ho appena finito e mi è piaciuto tantissimo! Ho ancora delle bustine da usare, ma quando lo avrò finito tutto lo prenderò di nuovo. Rimane un pò un pasticcio in bagno, ma a chi importa, sei nella doccia o nella vasca, e lo si pulisce. ;-)

If you're a 90s kid you have definitely saw at least once in your life Jumanji the original movie with Robin Williams. Then going to see this one was almost a must. I was bit afraid of how it could have turned out, but I must admit that I was pleased with it, the actors choice was really good, the story line was really nice and modern, considering how it starts, and it was really an original twist to make the game transform from a board game to a video game. It really has a soul.
Also, at one point of the movie there was a really nice reference to Robin Williams' character, Alan Parrish, and that really touched my heart. (I can cry easily with movies. And cartoons)
Se sei cresciuto negli anni 90, dovreste aver visto almeno una volta nella vostra vita Jumanji con Robin Williams. Quindi andare a vederlo era un must. Ero leggermente preoccupata del risultato, ma sono rimasta molto felice del risultato, la scelta degli attori è stata buona, la linea storica era moderna, considerando l'inizio, e anche come hanno fatto trasformare il gioco da gioco da tavolo a videogame. Ha davvero un'anima.
Oltretutto, ad un certo punto del film c'è anche una piccola dedica a Robin Williams e al suo personaggio, Alan Parrish, e mi ha fatto emozionare. (Piango facilmente guardando i film. E i cartoni)
