Ho sentito parlare di TREEDOM già da qualche tempo ed ho sempre pensato di voler acquistare un albero da far piantare, ma tra una cosa e l'altra me ne sono sempre dimenticata.
Ma il 2019 è stato l'anno in cui ho cercato di essere più eco-coscienziosa sia nelle mie scelte di acquisto, che nel valutare se e cosa acquistare, prima di farlo. Sono scivolata diverse volte, non sono perfetta, ma ho cercato, e cerco ancora di fare del mio meglio.
So, close to my 30th birthday, I decided to buy myself an African Fern Pine Tree, assigned to my zodiac sign, Sagittarius, it has been planted and will slowly grow, and I decided to call it Chiron, because Sagittarius is identified with a centaur and Chiron was Achilles master, in greek mythology. At the moment my tree has absorbed as much CO2 as the one emitted by 197 km by train.
Così, vicino al mio 30esimo compleanno, ho deciso di regalarmi un Albero di Pino di Felce Africano, assegnato al segno zodiacale del Sagittario, che è già stato piantato e piano piano cresce, che ho deciso di chiamare Chirone, perchè il Sagittario è identificato come un centauro e Chirone è stato il maestro di Achille, nella mitologia greca. Fino ad ora il mio albero ha assorbito CO2 pari a 197 km in treno.

Then, to my aunt and uncle I never know what the heck get them for Christmas, I decided to get them a Cacao Tree, which has been planted for about a month. My aunt and uncles didn't "get" it yet, I don't think they ever will, but I'm just glad that an other tree has been planted, and by now it as absorbed as much CO2 as the one emitted by 5 km by bus.
Siccome ai miei zii non so mai cosa regalare per Natale, ho deciso di prendere un albero a nome loro, nella "collezione" natalizia. Ho preso loro un albero di cacao, che è stato piantato già da un mesetto circa. I miei zii ancora non l'hanno "preso", non credo lo faranno, ma almeno io sono contenta di aver piantato un altro albero, che fino ad ora ha assorbito CO2 pari alla CO2 emessa da 5km in autobus.
Then, my mother didn't know what to get me for Christmas. Let's say that for my birthday I got an amazing gift, which has its cost and its importance, so I didn't expect much for Christmas from anyone. So, one day I was on my computer and I was talking about my aunt and uncle's gift, and my mom said "Hey, I'm going to give you a tree as a present, all right?!" so I got for myself, with her money, an other Cacao Tree, which we decided to call Dafne, because she thought it united our names. Not really, but it's okay :-)
In the meantime Dafne has absorbed as much CO2 as the one emitted by 36 km by train.
Poi, mia mamma non sapeva cosa regalarmi per Natale. Diciamo che quest'anno, per il mio 30esimo compleanno ho ricevuto un bellissimo regalo, che ha il suo costo e la sua importanza, quindi per Natale non mi aspettavo chissà che da nessuno. Così, un giorno che ero al computer e stavo parlando del regalo per gli zii mia mamma mi ha detto "Facciamo che ti regalo un albero per Natale!" così, ho preso per me, con i suoi soldi, ovviamente, un altro albero di cacao, che abbiamo deciso di chiamare Dafne, perchè secondo mia mamma può unire i nostri nomi. Non del tutto, ma va bene così. :-)
Nel frattempo Dafne ha assorbito CO2 pari alla CO2 emessa da 36 km in treno.
Of course, I'll monitor constantly my trees progresses and I'd love to get more in the near future. It's a nice way to get a present with significance, for many occasions. I'll probably get one for the birth of my cousin's son in May.
At the moment there are offers for St Valentine, but you can always find something, and there're offers for companies, to comunicate to partners and clients their environmental commitment.
Ovviamente, monitorerò costantemente i progressi dei miei alberi, e mi piacerebbe acquistarne altri in futuro, non troppo lontano. E' un ottimo modo per fare un regalo significativo, per varie occasioni. Probabilmente ne acquisterò uno per la nascita prossima del figlio di mia cugina, per maggio.
Ora ci sono delle offerte per San Valentino, ma ci sono sempre delle offerte anche per delle aziende, per comunicare ai partner e ai clienti il proprio impegno ambientale.
