Remember in this post when I said that this corner of my apartment needed a makeover? Well, it's started. Be prepared for some colour. I started with a sofa cover!
Vi ricordate questo post dove dicevo che questo angolo del mio appartamento aveva bisogno di un makeover? Beh, è iniziato. Preparatevi ad un pò di colore. Ho iniziato con un copridivano!
The other day I went to IKEA and in the AS IF section I found this duvet cover, so I thought I'd give it a try and see if it could fit on the sofa, and it sort of did, but it needed to be opened up and then I'd have to give it a hem on both opened sides.
L'altro giorno sono stata all'IKEA e nell'Angolo delle Occasioni ho trovato questo copripiumino, quindi ho pensato di provare a vedere se poteva stare sul mio divano, e più o meno ci stava, ma l'ho dovuto aprire e fare l'orlo da entrambi i lati.
It was like this before I opened it.
Rimaneva così prima che lo aprissi.
So, that is what I did, it took me a couple of hours, if not less. I used a seam ripper to rip all the stitches, once I took all the pieces of threads with my hands or with a sticky roller, I hemmed it all using the same line the duvet cover had with the stitching. Get it under the sewing machine, and done!
Ed è quello che ho fatto, mi ci sono volute forse un paio d'ore, se non di meno. Ho usato l'apri punti per aprirlo, e una volta tolti tutti i fili vaganti con le mani o con il rullo appiccicoso, ho fatto l'orlo usando la stessa linea della cucitura precedente. L'ho messo sotto la macchina da cucire ed era fatto!
I like it. The only downside is that every time you sit on it when you get up you have to get it back in its place. It's not really neat right now, but before sitting I'll fix it. I mean, it hides the ugly sofa, and I'm ok with that, since it also has holes in the cushion cases. But it's not my sofa so it will stay like this until my landlady will rent it out to someone else when I'll be able to move.
Mi piace. L'unico svantaggio è che ogni volta che mi alzo devo rimetterlo a posto. Anche ora, non è esattamente a posto, ma prima di sedermi lo sistemerò. Beh, almeno copre il divano brutto e va bene così, dato che i cuscini del divano hanno anche dei buchi. Ma non è mio il divano, quindi rimarrà così finchè la mia padrona di casa non lo affitterà ad altri quando potrò andarmene.
