I've been wanting to plant a piece of ginger for almost a year, and I finally managed to do it.
E' da circa un anno che volevo piantare un pezzo di zenzero, e finalmente ce l'ho fatta.
It's not a lazyness thing, it's just that I'm not the one using ginger around the house, even if I should start, so I always forgot to buy a bigger piece for that purpose. So, on the 12th September I bought a piece of ginger, and did it.
Non era neanche una questione di pigrizia, è solo che non sono io quella che usa lo zenzero in casa, anche se dovrei iniziare, quindi mi sono sempre dimenticata di comprare un pezzo un pò più grande per piantarlo. Quindi, il 12 settembre ho comprato un pezzo di zenzero e l'ho fatto.
So I cut a piece of it and had it in water for a whole night in a jar.
The day after I filled a pot with soil for 2/3, put the piece of ginger and covered it with more soil.
Then put some water and let it sit there.
Ne ho tagliato un pezzo e l'ho messo in un barattolo con dell'acqua per tutta la notte.
Il giorno dopo, ho riempito per 2/3 un vaso con la terra, ho inserito lo zenzero e l'ho coperto con altra terra. Ho poi bagnato la terra, e l'ho messo da parte.
Don't over water it. I'm not used to normal plants (I've always and only taken care of succulents and cacti) so what I like to do to see if I should water it is touching the soil. If it's still wet, the water can wait for an other day.
Non bagnatelo troppo. Non sono abituata alle piante normali (mi sono sempre occupata di piante grasse e cactus vari) quando voglio dargli l'acqua ho deciso che prima di bagnarli devo toccare la terra. Se è ancora bagnata, l'acqua allora può aspettare per un altro giorno.
